| Pond Owners, Hello. My name is Christian Shannon and I’m the owner of Professional Pond Construction and Maintenance. I started this business with the belief that ponds and water gardens are meant to be relaxing and enjoyable. I think that's what most people want when they start thinking of a pond. A person many times sees pictures, or a friends pond, or perhaps had a pond growing up, and thinks wow that would be nice.. Next thing you know you have a pond! Then the green water appears. Those Lilies need trimming. Those yucky filter pads need to be cleaned. Yikes! What’s all that stuff building up on the bottom of my pond? Look at that stringy stuff in our stream. It becomes more involved than it would seem at first and the pond doesn't always turn out like you envisioned. That’s where I come in. I take care of all that for you and I love it! Growing up I worked (played) in a large dirt area in my backyard. I loved to build dams and watch the water. I just couldn't get enough of the water. I spent thousands of hours preparing for my future wading through folks ponds. Through the years I've maintained every type of pond. From Koi ponds to Farm ponds. I've learned all the tricks. I understand the balance that’s necessary and prefer the natural approach to keeping a pond healthy. However, chemicals do have their place in certain circumstances, but usually, once I get a feel for a pond, and spend some time with it, they are unnecessary. I get real satisfaction in keeping ponds beautiful. It’s an art really. I also do all the routine stuff like water testing, vacuuming, leaf removal, and filter cleaning. I’m not a veterinarian but I can diagnose most fish problems and treat them. The key to having a beautiful pond isn't just having a great design.. It’s having a good design and great maintenance!!
